Infectious Generosity
TLDR
The guy who ran TED for a while wrote a book to capture his experience there and to suggest maybe generosity is not necessarily the way people think of it.. maybe it is way more varied and the book really really really wants u to believe it is more infectious than a yawn in a 5pm meeting where one person is just fucking hugging the damn mic with a monotone voice that could make a rhino cry!
Thoughts
The book had me rethink MrBeast as a whole thing! like maybe I do not agree with his methods, but he has for sure excited and motivated a whole generation .. and this is worth a lot! not exactly ready to go watch his videos now .. but well .. yeah!
Ideas I take away from the book:
- Ideas are really worth spreading and being generous with them is good!
- It is worth having a system to evaluate your goals and track them for generosity
- Talking and presenting your generosity may just act as a motivating factor that would multiply your impact! The more influence you have the higher the impact can be!
- One can consider doing a pledge of a portion of their net worth or income
- It is important to give with purpose, and make sure you are holding the receiver accountable if they are an organization.
- Choosing where and how to give is an important part of the journey!
